Theatre Cedar Rapids Visits Camp Classes
This summer TCR will be teaming up with the Science Center to put a dose of theatre fun into some of the science classes being offered. Check out the classes which will have a TCR teacher leading some theatre activities this summer:
Crime Scene Investigation - Grades 5-6 - Week of 6/18-6/22:
TCR theatre teacher James Trainor will be learning the science of crime scene investigation right along with the students. Under his guidance, the class will develop their own Crime Scene Story, which will be rehearsed throughout the week, and presented to friends and family on Friday, June 22. Learn about the tools and techniques used on the crime scene, think fingerprinting and analyzing mysterious fibers and footprints, and "act" on your new knowledge as a character in a fun and original theatre piece that you will be part of creating!
Also during the week of 6/18-6/22:
There will be a Theatre Day when two TCR theatre teachers will lead Science Center class groups in creative movement, improvisation, and story dramatization activities appropriate to the age of the students, connected to the science themes of the following AM classes: Junior Detective, Fitness Fanatics, and Survival Science, and PM classes: Story Book Science and Grossology.
And during the week of 7/16-7/20:
There will be a Theatre Day during the week of the following AM sessions: Creepy Critters, Incredible Insects, and Junior Vet, and PM classes: Dig Into Dinos, Camposaurus Rex, and Weather Watchers.
